Glen Ellyn Transformation

Located in Glen Ellyn, this project provided some interesting design challenges. The existing upper deck was inaccessible to the ground-level.

The clients were interested a large patio space with shaded areas and a firepit. The larger backyard allowed for an expansive hardscape space while still keeping enough usuable turf area intact

Using natural and man-made materials, our installation team constructed a multi-function patio with specific programmed areas. The dining area was placed under a cedar pergola for shade. A firepit area was set off to the side to not impede on daytime activity. Dedicated lounge space connected the paver spaces together. In order to keep the main patio features viewable from the upper deck, the pergola and firepit were set far away from the home. A circular staircase was installed to connect the upper deck to the new patio. The flooring material installed was natural bluestone with refurbished clay brick accents. The multi-color surface stood out well against the white façade of the home.
